The Medical Marvel

Zero-gravity spinal decompression and assisted stretching in one chair, engineered by Dr. Jack A. Atzmon, DC.

Some patients cannot get onto a traction table

Conventional spinal decompression means lying flat, strapped to a motorized table, while it pulls. It works. It also asks you to get down onto that table, and back up off it, and hold still throughout.

For the patients who need it most, that is the whole problem. Getting flat is the part they cannot do.

What is the Medical Marvel?

A zero-gravity chair that Dr. Atzmon engineered himself, which both decompresses the spine and delivers a controlled full-body stretch.

You sit down and recline into a weightless position rather than climbing onto a flat table. Motors and sensors move you through the treatment while your spine stays supported and your body stays relaxed, with no harness pulling you against it.

“I kept seeing patients in too much pain to even get onto a traction table. So I engineered a better one, a chair that decompresses the spine in a zero-gravity position. No flat table, no bracing through it. Just relief, from the moment you sit down.”
— Dr. Jack A. Atzmon, DC

Why does the zero-gravity position matter?

Because a spine in pain does not want to extend, and a body braced against traction is working against the treatment.

Reclined and weightless, you are not holding yourself against anything. That is what lets decompression reach the disc, and what lets a stretch go deeper than you could tolerate lying flat or achieve on your own.

Do I get decompression, stretching, or both?

That depends on what the examination shows, and Dr. Atzmon decides it per patient.

  • Decompression where a disc is under load, pressing on a nerve, or a curve has narrowed the space around it
  • Assisted stretching where tight tissue and lost range of motion are driving the problem
  • Both, in many cases, because unloading the disc and restoring mobility solve different halves of the same complaint

Because the settings are machine-controlled, each session is repeatable and progress is measurable rather than a matter of how you felt that day.

Is the Medical Marvel right for me?

It is built for the cases conventional traction struggles to reach:

  • Pain severe enough that getting onto or off a flat table is the hard part
  • A herniated or bulging disc that has not responded to rest
  • Sciatica and pain running down the leg
  • Spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease
  • Chronic back and neck tightness, or stiffness that returns between visits
  • Difficulty lying flat because of hips, knees, breathing, or body size
  • Anyone who tried decompression before and could not tolerate the table

If you were told decompression would help but could not get through it, this is the reason to try again.

Where can I be treated on one?

Here. The Medical Marvel is used in clinics across the country, and ours is the only one in northern New Jersey.

Dr. Atzmon designed it, so he is also the one deciding whether it suits your case and at what settings. He uses it alongside adjustments, conventional decompression where that fits you better, and fitted back bracing to keep load off the disc between visits.

How soon can I be seen, and will insurance cover it?

Same day in most cases, and we are open Saturday mornings. No referral is needed.

We are in network with most major New Jersey carriers. Coverage varies by plan, so we verify your benefits before your visit and go over what to expect, so nothing about the cost is a surprise from us.
