Gentle, age-appropriate care for growing spines, with Dr. Jack A. Atzmon, DC.
Children and teenagers carry heavy backpacks, sit hunched over screens, specialize in one sport year-round, and grow faster than their muscles adapt. Their complaints come out as “my back hurts” or as nothing at all.
Dr. Atzmon evaluates growing spines and treats what is mechanical, with technique scaled to a child’s size.
These are musculoskeletal problems, and that is the scope of care here. Anything outside it gets a referral rather than a treatment plan.
Because curves appear during the growth years and are usually painless at the start. What parents notice is a shoulder sitting higher or a shirt hanging unevenly, and that gets attributed to posture for years.
A screening takes one visit. If a curve is found, size and age determine everything that follows, and knowing early is what keeps the options open.
The technique used on a child is not the technique used on an adult. Force is scaled to the child’s size and stage of growth, and much of pediatric care is gentle mobilization rather than manipulation.
Dr. Atzmon examines first and explains what he finds to you before doing anything. If something falls outside chiropractic scope, he will tell you that and point you to the right provider.
History, examination, and a clear explanation of the findings in plain language, with you in the room throughout.
Same-day appointments in most cases, and Saturday mornings, which is usually easier than pulling a child out of school. We are in network with most major New Jersey carriers, and we verify your benefits before your visit and go over what to expect.
